A police officer in Buenos Aires is recovering after being attacked by an armed assailant. The incident occurred in the early morning hours in the Balvanera neighborhood. Around 04:40, Officer Florencia Micaela Martínez was approached from behind by a man who put a firearm to her neck on the street of Mexico, between Urquiza and 24 de Noviembre. The attacker demanded her service weapon, leading to a struggle in which the officer fell to the ground. She managed to prevent the robbery before the aggressor fled. During his escape, the criminal fired a shot that hit the ground, a sequence captured by a security camera. As a result of the violent episode and the victim's nervous breakdown, a victim assistance protocol was activated, and the Urban Guidance Center (CUP) was involved. The officer was interviewed by a psychology professional to receive necessary support for this high-stress traumatic situation. Despite a search operation by patrol cars, the attacker, who was wearing a blue shirt and a 'Piluso' type hat, has not yet been located. The prosecutor in charge, Silvana Russi, ordered the immediate intervention of the brigade and ballistics personnel to analyze the projectile.
